Soror the Year 2011
Nu Iota Omega's Greenest Ivy
Sandra K. McClellan
Soror Sandra McClellan was initiated in Nu Iota Omega Chapter in 2007.
Since that time, Soror Sandra has been a loving, dedicated and very sisterly soror. She has been active in many endeavors throughout this past year.
She served as the Unity Heritage Festival Chairperson in 2011 and is also the chairperson for 2012. She successfully attended to numerous details to help make the Nu Iota Omega chapter's involvement with the Festival a success.
In February 2011, Soror Sandra attended the AKA Day at the Capitol. She took on the expense of driving herself to Tallahassee and staying overnight so that she could be there for the opening session. Soror Sandra provided valuable information to the committee for our AKA Connection Committee Report on AKA Day at the Capitol. Soror Sandra used her artistic abilities to help with the AKA Connection Scrapbook we took to Tallahassee.
Soror Sandra also helped with the AKA Connection Voter Education Information table at the Senior Sweetheart Luncheon.
Soror Sandra is an advisor for Ivy Tea Rose Inc.'s Ivy Rosette Group of young girls. She is dearly loved and respected by the girls and they listen to her and heed her advice. She is always present for our monthly meeting with the girls, helping out as needed.
She assisted with the Ivy Tea Rose Arts in the Afternoon event.
Soror Sandra provided financial support for our Golf Tournament by obtaining sponsorship from her employer, AXA Financial. She is always researching prospective financial grants for our project use.
Soror Sandra also nominated and presented the award to one of our recipients at the Ivy Tea Rose Inc., Community Service Awards Program in November 2011.
Soror Sandra attended the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, Public Policy Meeting in Washington, DC to keep informed of the issues affecting us and our community.
