Soror the Year 2000

Nu Iota Omega's Greenest Ivy

Patricia Culpepper Jones In order for Nu Iota Omega to be successful it takes everyone's participation and dedication. One person cannot do it by themselves. In the year 2000, Nu Iota Omega played an important role in community based service and fulfilling our role as Alpha Kappa Alpha women. Nu Iota Omega is to be commended for a job well done . . . we are all stars.

In every sea of stars there is one star that shines just a little bit brighter . . . and after some of us have said, well that's enough for me, she finds just a little more energy to go that extra mile.

Our soror of the year has been committed to Nu Iota Omega from the day she reactivated in January 1999. She currently holds the office of Pecunious Grammateus (Financial Secretary) and is serving in that capacity in an exemplary manner.

Soror Patricia has acted as co-chair of the Black Family committee for the past two years. She helped plan the family picnic and coordinated the clothing drive for the homeless shelter for two consecutive years. Soror Pat has also chaired the Zora Neale Hurston Festival activities for the past two years as well and Nu Iota Omega was well represented. Other committments for Soror Pat include the Education Target Jump Rope for the Heart, First Read and Teach-In 2000.
