Soror Rhonda Uzodinma has been financially active with Nu Iota Omega since June 1998. From the very beginning Soror Rhonda has been energetic and enthusiastic about working hard for AKA. When it was made known that a soror was needed to be groomed to take over the responsibilities of Epistoleus, Soror Rhonda volunteered. Subsequently she was elected Epistoleus in November 1998 beginning her reign in January 1999 to the present. Because of her creativity and innovations the Sister to Sister (our monthly newsletter) has never been so beautiful and informative.
Initially Soror Rhonda chose to work on the Ivy AKAdemy, Membership and Art Committees (she chaired the arts committee). It was Soror Rhonda's suggestion that the Ivy AKAdemy girls start having notebooks assigned to them, making them responsible for bringing them to each and every session, rewarding each girl when she did. Rhonda also felt that each Ivy AKAdemy session should be started with a prayer, and that their session should be started with a business meeting.
Soror Rhonda exemplifies sisterliness on all levels. Last summer ('99) Soror Rhonda initiated our very 1st prayer chain. Also if you pay careful attention to your Sister to Sister, she puts all sorts of motivational sayings and prayers to keep us uplifted. This she has taken upon herself as her concern has always been for Nu Iota Omega's spiritual well-being.
Soror Rhonda can rise to any occasion as she was the "Passionate Black Sista" at the 1999 Spring Fashion Fantasy Fashion Show and Luncheon. She also has quite a bit of business savvy as she was instrumental in securing Dillards Department Store a major participant in the Fashion Show.
Prior to being put on bed rest because of her pregnancy, Soror Rhonda has attended all previous sorority meetings (except 1). She chaired the Registration Committee for Cluster '99. Registration was smooth and painless for Cluster participants due to Soror Rhonda and her committee.
Because of her loving and giving nature, her hard work and creativity, Soror Rhonda Uzodinma was chosen as Nu Iota Omega's Soror of the Year for 1999.
