AKA Spirit of Reading

June 27, 2005. Nu Iota Omega chapter partnered with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Winter Park for it's 2nd Annual AKA Spirit of Reading. Over 50 students and their parents braved the inclement weather of thunderstorms and lighting to attend the event. Students aged Pre-K to High School were able to browse and pick and choose from a selection of over 200 books. The students played games and feasted on snacks. While the students played games the parents were able to browse our "Table of Tools and Tips" for helping parents prepare their children for the FCAT, Tips for Reading to and with Children in Kindergarten Through Grade 3, Beginning Consonant Blends, Reading Activities, Math Activities and Some Simple Ways to Help Your Elementary Child Learn to Read.
