Measure of a Man

February 16, 2007. This was the 4th opportunity as a chapter for Nu Iota Omega to impact the African American community with the purchase of "Measure of a Man" by Sidney Poitier. The Eagle's Nest, a black owned Bible and Bookstore held a meet and greet for our chapter with the featured book for us. We discussed Sidney Poitier's accomplishments, what he stood for and his struggles as a black actor, husband and family man. Each of us in attendance purchased the book, vowed to read it, encouraged other members to purchase the book and we would have a discussion and display at a later date during sorority meeting.
