9th Annual Senior Citizens Sweetheart Luncheon

February 25, 2006. In our ninth year, Nu Iota Omega continues to show our love to our senior citizens in the surrounding area. Seniors were invited from local churches, Ward Chapel, Mt. Moriah, Warner Chapel, Bethel Baptist, Flowers Temple and from local community groups - Sara's Kitchen, Winter Park Community Center and the Ideal Women's Group. We had a delicious lunch and a beautiful program. Our Ivy Connection girls performed a skit dipicting the events that led up to a group of young girls entering an all white college for the first time (Sara's Dream). There were a total of 12 girls and one young man (Marcus Jefferson) present. Our own Soror Gloria rendered a beautiful meditation. Door Prizes were given to all attendees. We served 72 seniors (male and female) and we're expecting even more next year.
