Welcome to the website for Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. We are excited to be celebrating 100 years of sisterhood. Our founders at Howard University began this organization with the motto of service to all mankind and each member of Nu Iota Omega is upholding the founders' vision by providing service to her community.

Our celebration of 100 years of service continues in our recognition of our elders. We honor the foundation they laid for us and the pathways they cleared so that our way might be easier.

We then swing our attention to our future by assisting new mothers. Our goal is to provide them with resources to raise the next generation of strong, well educated leaders.

Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. proudly presents : Every Student Prospers by reading, Saturday, September 13, 2008, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Winter Park Community Center, 721 W New England Avenue, Winter Park, FL. This fun-filled event is geared to encourage students of ALL ages to strengthen their knowledge and enthusiasm of reading. We will offer a variety of books ranging from beginning readers, fiction/non fiction stories as well as books to help students learn and prepare for their financial future. This event is FREE for all ages and will also include storytelling and interactive activities as students will be able to share the love of reading with others.

Lunch will be provided and every child will walk away with a free book to add to their personal collection.

4th Annual Community Service Awards Reception

Nu Iota Omega Chapter will host its Fourth Annual Community Service Awards Reception. The location for this auspicious occasion will be the Crowne Plaza Orlando Downtown (formerly known as the Lexington) 304 West Colonial, 32801.

The public is invited to share an evening of networking, hors d'oeuvres, and entertainment while helping Nu Iota Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. honor deserving community members who have made a significant difference to our community. Our past recipients include Dianne Prince, Priscilla Anderson Carter, Eula Pearl Jenkins, Joyce Moore Swain, Ronald Allen Moore, Lisa Williams, Dr. Angela D. Adams, Derrick Baxter, and Toni Evette Shinn.
