Founders' Day Celebration 2006

February 11, 2006. Nu Iota Omega celebrated Founders' Day with Kappa Sigma Omega Chapter of Sanford, Florida. The theme for this celebration was, Sisters Celebrating 98 Years of Service in the Spirit of AKA. The celebration was held at the newly managed, Palms Island Hotel and Resort located on Sanford's marina. The keynote speaker was Soror Geraldine Thompson, a visionary, activist, educator and a voice for the disadvantaged and less fortunate. She is the founding president of The Association to Preserve African American Society, History & Tradition, Inc. (PAST). It is the tradition of the sorors of Nu Iota Omega to announce its soror of the year at the Founders' Day Celebration. Soror Lucretia Williams was bestowed this honor this year.
