October 3, 2009. The Every Student Prospers by Reading event took place at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Eatonville, Florida. The turnout was outstanding. There were over 100 Students in attendance along with 20 parents. The event was a Book Fair that highlighted financial books. In addition to the Book Fair, representatives from the local bank and various financial institutions gave presentation to the children regarding saving and finances. Play money was given to each child that registered for the event. The play money was for purchasing books at the Book Fair after the financial presentations. The book shopping exercise helped to solidify the lessons taught by the presenters. The presenters educated the children about Saving money, Budgets, Expenditures and the differences between "Wants" and "Needs".
